“I'm quite vivacious and energetic - I like that many types of techno make me feel like myself and reflect who I am. I think hedonism and pleasure is central to my personality as well, which are important parts of techno as a scene beyond music as well.
I like that there is so much variety in music, and yet it feels continuous. You aren't always aware of a track change, and the way it guides you through different phases and emotions feels like a metaphor for life. Techno is a sound journey and it helps me to relinquish control.
I also love the scene of techno music - everyone always seems to be happy and is there for the music and the sense of community around them. It's both an escape as well as a coming together and being present.
How a save space techno party looks like? Radical consent: everybody asking everyone else if they can touch them or interact with them. No rudeness, no entitlement. Queer friendly: a safe space for queers, trans, nonbinaries. Nudity and sex-positive: no sex shaming or body shaming. Freedom of expression. Substance knowledgable and helpful: no substance shaming and access to care and help in case of an emergency. People watching out for one another and making sure they are using substances responsibly.”
