“My boyfriend, now husband, used to organize techno nights in a really dirty, greasy and grimy club in Nottingham. I like this kind of places where there’s a sense of community. People within the techno community come from a really friendly and nice place. They are down to earth. I am a very open person and I find techno people pretty openminded and playful. It brought me amazing friends. Everyone is still raving. You can be together on a party or create your own magical little techno bubble.
I think one of the most wonderful memories was the anniversary label night of Jeff Mills at Corsica Studios in London. They only sold 250 tickets. It was just after Donna Summer died. Jeff was a massive lover of her. It was so moving being all together loving Jeff for what he was doing. And when he played Donna Summer’s ‘I feel Love’ at the end people started crying and hugging each other. That was a pretty spiritual experience.”
