“I was born and raised in Berlin. But techno was always this ‘oh, be careful’ and dangerous thing. So, I used to be scared of techno. Then I went to a rave and fell in love immediately. It’s a place of happiness, inclusiveness, respect. In the beginning I was still kind of scared. I was going home like I did a bad thing. It took some time to get warm, but yeah, I was with the flow immediately.
At the time I started going to parties I also started therapy. From a trauma that I had. So basically, techno and therapy happened at the same time. I was in a place where all my thoughts would run wild. Everything was scattered, everything was like 10.000 thoughts at the same time. Hearing the steady sound and rhythm made my thought clearer. The music tells me what to do and what to think. But at the same time, you are in charge.
There was one summer full of parties and festivals, that was the summer of my life. I was leaving my trauma behind and stripped myself from all the bad things. I made so much progress in my sexuality and confidence. It was all about meeting new people and falling in love again with myself and expressing this”
